Okay, people. I liked Velvet Goldmine as much as the next sissy glam rock fan. But for the love of God, it doesn't mean I want to see references to it cropping up in HP fics.

So if I read one more story where Sirius is sporting eyeliner and glitter...

...took the words right out of my mouth. I just LOVE it when ficcers screw up basic subtraction, figure that the Marauders were in Hogwarts in the early 70s (which they probably were NOT), and go "OMG, BRIAN SLADE FEVER SWEEPS HOGWARTS!"

Hee hee hee. It'd be amusing if they all shaved their eyebrows off and dyed their hair orange, I guess.
