So I picked up Lavinia yesterday from the library. I read the entire book in one sitting, because it was that damned good. I had forgotten how much I love Ursula K. Le Guin.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
bluesummerfox!!!!!!♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Well, I'm a little over halfway through DMC4 now and have just switched to playing as Dante. Is it terrible that I kind of miss Nero already?
(
Spoilers for DMC4 plot (or lack thereof) under the cut. )
Soooo... now that I've shared my deep thoughts on Vergil's reproductive system with the world, I shall be a responsible adult and go to work now. Bah. stupid work, keeping me away from my REAL priorities!
So finally got off my lazy ass and went through the last two chapters of Eternal Sonata.
Spoilers for the entire game below the cut.
( Read more... )
Overall thoughts: If you like games that take historical figures and do crazy things with them, (Shadow Hearts) then you'll like this game. If you like the old school RPGs, you'll probably like this game. If you like adorable characters and classical music bgm and dialog that waxes poetic about the meaning of life... well you get the idea. As I like most of these things (excluding the 'waxing poetic' part), I'm glad I picked it up.
Once again proving that I have no self-control or sense of money management, I caved and bought an Xbox 360 along with Eternal Sonata last night.

See, for years now, I've owned a free copy of Devil May Cry 2 which I've never played. Today I figured, "Eh, why not?" since I just replayed the first one and figured I may as well finally play DMC2 for the sake of completeness. Despite the cries of protest from friends who warned it sucked, I started playing it this morning.
I can't say it's a horrible game by any means (I've played worse, and also went in with no expectations) but my biggest gripe is this: I'm on Mission 14 now and FUCK IF I STILL DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE STORY IS IN THIS GAME.
Baby monkey makes friends with a pigeon. SO ADORABLE.
I... have spent a shameful amount of time this week playing Sims 2. Of course, this has involved making weird households such as this one:
Yes. This IS a TMNT household. Guess who's who? XD;;;;
This post has been made mostly for the sake of amusing
kay_cricketed.
This one time in band camp VR training...
I finally got around to starting MGS2 today. Am very impressed with the pretty graphics, and have shamefully spent way more time than I care to admit staring at Snake's ass. XD;;;; Hey, who can blame me?! Those Sneaking Suits don't leave much to the imagination! And Otacon's stupid trivia was a lot more entertaining to me than Mei Ling's ramblings from the first game, which made saving a lot more fun this time around.
Uh, Ocelot's arm... wtf.
I just finished the first part of the game and already I miss playing as Snake! But Raiden seems like he'll be fun. XD
...and WHY is the Colonel telling me how to play the game again? Seems just a LITTLE unnecessary by this point!
DAMMIT, I SUCK AT SNIPING! Anyone wanna take pity on me and tell me how I'm supposed to beat Sniper Wolf? (I HAVE teh sniper rifle, but I apparently suck at *using* it)
EDIT: Whoo! beat her! Thanks to
bluesummerfox and
jokersama for reminding me to get high on mah meds. XD;
I picked up Metal Gear Solid from the local Gamestop last night since it's been all the rage on my friends list lately (well, okay, mostly just the posts by
jokersama) and what can I say? I love it! I wish I had played these games when they first came out! So thanks,
jokersama for showing me the light XDDD I've already made plans to buy the sequel PS2 games from a co-worker. XD
I just got the part where Psycho Mantis is demonstrating his telepathic powers and am HIGHLY amused cuz he told me I like Castlevania... I can only assume this is the memory card I used to save Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. XD; The controller trick was rather neato, too. XDDD Okay, so I'm easily entertained.
And man, is Meryl a whiny bitch! I'm glad I was able to punch her in the face a few times just now to pay her back for making me sit through that long ass cut scene in the Women's Bathroom where she had to ramble on and on about her stupid girly feelings.
Also, I have immense love for Solid Snake♥♥♥.
Neil Gaiman, David Bowie and Yoshitaka Amano are collaborating on a project. Now THAT'S something bound to be interesting!
Okay, people. I liked Velvet Goldmine as much as the next sissy glam rock fan. But for the love of God, it doesn't mean I want to see references to it cropping up in HP fics.
So if I read one more story where Sirius is sporting eyeliner and glitter...
